where weekly market intelligence and 500 word book reviews on globalization meet the feedback loop of fellow travelers from the wild and wonderful world of global IT services.
I am the New York-based communications director for Capgemini’s North American business, and my team extends from Mumbai in the east to Chicago, Dallas and Toronto west of the Hudson.
The premise is simple: each Wednesday, I review a book you can buy in most airport bookstores for my 7,000 onshore NA colleagues, and it is also posted on Capgemini’s global intranet later that day. We started doing this in March 2006, and the feedback from near and far shows that people would rather read 500 words about something their clients are talking or stressing about than the “real thing!”
So…every Wednesday a book review will be posted out here, and weekend musings on other things that impact the real and imaginary worlds of consulting, technology and outsourcing will also find their way here in between.
Happy surfing, and whether you think IT doesn’t matter or the world is hardly flat, you’re always welcome here at CapComGolb!
